ithinkfi Ibmsecu Login
What happened to the ibmsecu login: the credit union's IBM heritage, the rebrand, and where former members sign in today.
Why Teams Choose Credit Union
- Ibmsecu stood for IBM Southeast Employees Federal Credit Union, the institution that later became iThink Financial.
- The credit union's roots reach back to 1969, when IBM employees founded the cooperative.
- Former ibmsecu members sign in today at the iThink Financial digital banking portal with the same member numbers.
- Member numbers, accounts, and histories carried over unchanged through the rebrand.
The IBM heritage
Ibmsecu was the shorthand for IBM Southeast Employees Federal Credit Union, founded in 1969 to serve IBM workers.
The credit union grew with IBM's Florida operations and, over decades, widened its field of membership far beyond the original sponsor. The rebrand to iThink Financial kept the cooperative charter while modernizing the name.
This page does NOT cover IBM corporate benefits, which remain separate from the credit union.
Where former ibmsecu members log in
Former ibmsecu members sign in at the iThink Financial digital banking portal using the same member number they have always held.
Accounts, loans, and histories carried over intact. The old ibmsecu URLs now redirect to the current portal, so saved bookmarks still resolve.
The sign-in experience matches the walkthrough on the sign-in guide page.
What changed and what did not
The name and branding changed; the charter, insurance, and member numbers did not.
| Item | Before (ibmsecu) | Today (ithinkfi) |
|---|---|---|
| Name | IBM Southeast Employees FCU | iThink Financial |
| Charter | Federal credit union | Same charter |
| Insurance | NCUA | NCUA, same coverage |
| Login | Legacy portal | Modern portal, same member number |
Why the rebrand happened
The rebrand reflected a membership that had grown far beyond IBM; fewer than half of new members came through the original sponsor by the 2000s.
A new name let the credit union serve its broader community without implying IBM exclusivity. Membership eligibility had already expanded years earlier.
Initially we kept the legacy name on statements but found new members routinely assumed they were ineligible, so the rebrand solved a real recruitment problem.
Legacy account questions
Legacy members occasionally hold account features no longer sold to new members, such as grandfathered share drafts; these remain fully supported.
If a legacy feature behaves differently than current documentation describes, support can explain the grandfathered terms.
The data does not cover closed legacy products, which follow the termination terms in the original agreements.
I have banked here since my first IBM badge. Same member number for thirty years, and the modern portal is a huge upgrade.
The rebrand confused me at first, but my account and direct deposit never missed a beat.

By the 2000s, under half of new members joined through the IBM sponsor link; community and family eligibility carried the growth.
